Best Interests of the Child

A recent case involved an order by a judge that a father have sole parental responsibility, for the child to live with the father, and to spend time with the child's aunt and grandmother. The father appealed and said that a natural parent should have priority. The court on appeal said there were no such presumptions or preferred positions. The only consideration was the best interest of the child.
